Pre training assessments give you the opportunity to meet our trainer in person, who will demonstrate our structured approach to attain a behavior which is expected of gundog in a working environment.
Our trainer will explain different training methods to suit your gundogs character and he will give his opinion on the strengths and weaknesses of your dog.
After demonstrating the requirements of a particular course, the handler and gundog will be assessed against that standard and advised which training program is most suitable for you and your gundog.
Pre training assessments will identify weaknesses and strengths of the handler, if sufficient time allows our trainer may choose to correct a particular problem, but only if he believes the training can be completed in the time available.
Many clients arrive with a host of problems to resolve, which can sometimes take several months to change, a good gundog trainer can change a dogs behavior very quickly, many owners will not get the same results in the same time period !
Most handlers lack good leadership skills and blame the gundog for a behavior, when it is the handler who has created the behavior!

Please be advised these assessments are for the trainers benefit not just your own, they allow us to evaluate your dog properly, rather than relying on telephone conversations speculating on problems, which are quite often wrongly diagnosed.
Our trainer will discuss your aspirations for the dog, such that we structure the training progam appropriate to both the handler and your gundogs needs.
Training assessments cost £40 and take 1 hour. You can either suggest a suitable time and date on your booking form or obtain an appointment prior to booking by email/telephone.
