This weekend presents a magnificent spectacle of over 200 Shire Horses on display, making it the largest Shire Horse show in the World.
The two-day spectacular, organised by the Shire Horse Society, a registered charity, helps raise much needed funds to support the threatened breed and secure its future, especially among the younger generation.
Visitors to the Show, which attracts thousands of crowds from across the country, as well as overseas, will be able to see hundreds of Shire Horses expertly presented and dressed in their traditional glory. There will be a range of demonstrations and classes featuring in-hand, harness, turnout, ridden and with implements.
You can marvel at the skills of the farrier, as the show also hosts the largest farriery competition on heavy horses in England. There is also a display of vintage tractors and farm machinery and the fast and furious activity of dog agility. There is fun for all the family, including the Victorian funfair and a wide variety of trade stands.
