Field Trial IRONY ~ I was asked to delete some club events from the web today as a club secretary did not want to advertise a field trial to the general public through fear of anti's appearing on the door step! "As if keeping the the door closed to member only activities & information is going to resolve those stereotype issues! ~ better openness in the field trialing world, will benefit its support long term. The solution is to educate & help those who are willing to listen and learn; those who are not willing to listen in the main have already closed their minds - Restricting information flow, will only serve suspicion and hinder popularity of field trials. The only way our sport will survive is to make events enjoyable and accessible without closed doors and self interested protectionism.

Recent Water Training was enjoyed by a number of clients, identifying several weaknesses for future training, problems encountered were refusal to enter water, failing to cross water, steadiness to a fallen dummy on water, steadiness to other dogs on water, failure to retrieve on water, lack of confidence to running water, steep banks and obsticles. By the end of the training session all the dogs from a variety of gundog breeds had successfully retrieved from water some with more confidence than others. Mr. S Hare's English Springer "Dillon" had a great training session completing all the tasks asked of his dog.
February 2009 Congratulations to Mrs Hemingways bitch "Ash" mated with FTW Northglen Charlie, and gave birth to 3 puppies by cesarean section on the 11th Feburary, one puppy needed nursing with formula milk, now all 3 are now feeding from mum and growing at a rapid rate. Its worth mentioning that this mating, was difficult and a conventional tie was never acheived, despite several attemps. Matings are not always straight forward, the breeder was advised to consult her vet to investigate and monitor the progress. It was this care and attention, which secured a successful delivery, the vet stated that she would have not been able to deliver them herself as the birth canal was too narrow.
FTW Northglen Charlie was mated with Mr Tophams "REMY" Kennel name Kayteens Amanda, Royston Herts on 6th Febuary Puppies due 10th April 2009
