 Working Gundog Graded Training Assessment
Sunday 10.00am 12th February 2012

All our working gundog field test assessments are graded at LEVELS 1 to 6 covering puppy to advanced gundog work. These grades prove the efficiency of your gundog against a set standard, without the need for your gundog to enter competition.

Gundogs completing grade 1 & 2 assessments will have aquired a basic level of hunting, retrieving and obedience skills suitable for a pet owner, who has no wish to use their gundog in a working or shooting environment, but require their dog to be fit for function. These grades are suitable for owners who have found general obedience training in an enclosed space to be insufficient for their needs.

Gundogs completing grades 3 & 4 will have aquired intermediate hunting, retrieving and obedience skills suitable as an introduction to requirements of a proper working gundog capable of participating in a kennel club puppy or novice working test events, these gundogs would not cope for long periods on a normal shooting day without the owners losing control at some stage off lead.

Gundogs completing grades 5 & 6 will have aquired advance hunting, retrieving and obedience skills, and would be considered to be highly desirable on a normal shooting day, (we do exclude dogs with faults as defined by the kennel club), nor do we exclude unregistered kennel club gundogs. The majority of these gundogs would be capable of competing in Kennel Club Field Trial events at novice level.

All working gundog graded assessment tests are conducted under the supervision of an independant assessor. Our Assessors are experienced gundog handlers who at the very least have produced gundogs which have qualified for the kennel club stud book. Our assessors have won and judged field trials of various breeds.

Our Working Gundog Assessors would not work with training establishments unless they consider them to be training gundogs to a standard, suitable for the beating line, picking up, rough shooting, driven shooting, kennel club working tests and field trials.

All Assessment will be completed on training grounds suitable for the grades undertaken. You will be provided with an assessment report on completion of your test, if you pass the requirements of the grade you will be awarded a rosette and a certificate of your progress on the day.
